And the day came. Today one of the biggest sporting events that Xàbia hosts was held; the Trixàbia - Edu Monfort Memorial. The triathlon had more than 600 participants, with Eloy Canales Escribano and Sara Alemany Seguer being the best.
From early in the morning, the atmosphere was maximum in the Arenal Beach. The athletes ran before the hustle and bustle of preparing all the material for the three tests. Bikes, bibs, neoprene and water. The first test held was the swimming one. In Olympic mode, participants had to swim 1500 meters, while in Sprint it was 750 meters.
Next, after finishing this segment, the athletes continued with the cycling test, covering 38,5 kilometers (Olympic) on a flat and firm route and 19,2 kilometers on a Sprint route.
In the third segment, the running segment, the runners completed 9,8 kilometers (Olympic) and 4,9 kilometers (sprint).
The Trixàbia has passed without incident thanks to the work of the Club Esportiu Llebeig, as well as the volunteers and the collaboration of security forces, Civil Protection and the Jávea Red Cross.
Classification
In the men's Olympic category, the podium went to Eloy Canales, with a time of 01:49:39. The second to enter the finish line has been Eduardo Blanco, who stopped the clock at 01:50:46, and the third Sergio Moreno, who reached the finish line in 01:51:05.
In women, in Olympic modality, the first has been Sara alemany, with a time of 02:05:21, second Josefina Pilar Flores, who did a time of 02:09:00, and the third Mariola Sebastian, with a time of 02: 14: 05.
In Sprint mode, the first three men to reach the finish line have been Alberto González, with a time of 01:01:24, the second Vicent ginestar, with a time of 01:02:09, and third Niall Kelly, in 01: 03: 58.
In women, first place for Lucia Granero, with a time of 01:16:26, second Silvia Simarro, reaching the finish line in 01:16:29, and third Pink Plaza, in 01: 16: 36.
