Crisis in the PSOE of Xàbia: the socialist Rafa Bas talks about the division of the party in the last 12 years

February 16 from 2024 - 15: 00

The Socialist Party of Xàbia does not seem to be going through a good time. In an interview with Rafa Bas, first youth secretary of Xàbia in 1991, party organization secretary and twice head of the PSPV-PSOE list for the mayor of Xàbia, he broke the silence.

Bas has noted that in the last 12 years, the Socialist Party has taken a 180 degree turn. «In 2008 I retired from the front line of politics and trusted José Chulvi to be the next candidate. I also supported him to be the general secretary, although at that time there was already a split in the party over another candidate, but Chulvi got the support," explains Rafa Bas, who adds that "he was a very different person now. He owed it to the party. That's why I thought about him.

The first changes

In his first candidacy for mayor - in 2007 - he won the elections with a minority. He obtained six councilors and formed a government with Xàbia Democrástica and Ciudadanos por Jávea, although he also obtained the support of the two councilors of the opposition Nueva Jávea party; «Although he is still the same Chulvi as always, that is when he began to make changes. He eliminated the position of group secretary, which was one of the positions he held before becoming mayor and is the only link that exists to help the opposition. Furthermore, he has compulsively lied to the truth, starting by not fulfilling his promises -referring to the assignment of positions-," says Bas.

«But the situation changes radically when in the following elections, his second term, he obtains the absolute majority with 14 councilors. From there, dealing with people in the party is different. There begin to be first and second class militants, following the line in the third victory, with a new majority, -11 councilors-. "Whoever did not share his idea was not taken into account, causing the socialist party to be divided," says the socialist militant.

Discontent in the party

Rafa Bas maintains that although there is no alternative side to Chulvi, if there is discontent within the party, "if you are a party person you try to form a group and not divide. And his way of acting within the party has not been correct. "I trusted him and I regret it."

In an assessment of the socialist management in the government, the former councilor and former candidate for mayor affirms that "the true projects of the PSOE such as the Housing Institute or the Industrial Estate so necessary for the companies of Xàbia have not been fulfilled." . In fact nothing has been done for the people. I am a party person, of the socialist party, but in 12 years only the accounts have been cleaned up; "Practically no infrastructure has been inaugurated."

    LOL
Party division says. This character has no idea what he is saying nor does he have the slightest credibility. He embarrasses others. With how comfortable they will be without him and that is why he is angry. And the worst of all is that today the newspapers buy the story from any "person" who out of malice seeks his golden minute.

Your party in Jávea also has no credibility.

Well, that person, at least he had the courage to go out and face the almighty, Chulvi.
I remind you that he was the one who started the review of the PGOU in 2006, which Chulvi has not been able to finish in twelve years, even as a regional deputy and member of the PSPV Country Executive. That he left the Local Police with 90 troops, not the 55 that he has now.
That he has not left political corpses along the way to save his neck nor has he left any person who has asked him for help stranded.
I don't think he has any anger, maybe he is ashamed to see what his party and its leader are becoming. And I don't think he does it for a second of glory either, I think it doesn't suit him. Maybe anger and arrogance are yours

Finally someone who says what is happening.

Of course, you have to believe everything this person says, who has a reputation and credibility through the roof. And I say this because I know him and when he was supposed to work he left me hanging. There I see more tantrums of jealousy than anything else.
