Yesterday, the city of Dénia announced that it has reached an agreement with the Department to resume the surveillance shared basis, news that surprised the Mayor of Xàbia, José Chulvi.
According Chulvi, "It is unfortunate that the regional government has set aside one of the two municipalities involved and ignored all offers of collaboration of Xàbia". The mayor recalled that there was no official notification of the termination of the service by the Consellería, and even so Xàbia demanded the convocation of the Governing Board of the Natural Park Montgó to address the issue and coordinate new surveillance measures in this maritime area of high ecological and scenic value. He also contacted the vice president of the Generalitat to offer the means available to Xàbia for surveillance and solve the problem.
