€106.208. That is the amount received by the Town hall of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell through a grant from the Provincial Council to repair rural roads damaged in the January storm. This help was requested by the town council within the call for subsidies and aid from the Provincial Council of Alicante in favor of the municipalities of the province, for financially sustainable investments aimed at repairing infrastructures affected by the latest storms.
The actions, which will be awarded and executed by the Diputación itself at the beginning of 2018, will consist of the containment and conditioning of the rural road of La Torra, for an amount of 72.369 euros, asphalting Benitachells road for 11.914 euros and repair way of Benicambres, with an investment of 21.926 euros.
The 2017 storm at the end of January in El Poble Nou in Benitatxell caused strong landslides, ripped trees and billboards, and also some street lamps. Costas de Alicante and El Poble Nou de Benitatxell set out to repair Cala Moraig so that it could be ready for Easter.
Now, with this new grant, Diputación will carry out improvement works on some rural roads that were also damaged. "Both Costas de Alicante and the Diputación have turned from the day after the storm and from here I want to publicly thank the fact that they are always pending the needs of our municipality" said the town's mayor, Josep Femenia.
