The government team of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell, led by the mayor Miguel Ángel García, from Més Benitatxell, is determined to improve traffic and road safety in the conflictive points of the municipality. For this, the Town hall has obtained a budget to create a roundabout at the intersection of Avenida de Valencia and Calle Mercat, one of the main accesses to the urban area.
The plenary session has approved a modification of credits to enable a game of 48.263 euros to build this roundabout that will have 4,7 meters in diameter, will reorder the traffic along the avenue and will create a more attractive environment. The roundabout is basic to give fluidity and safety to the traffic, while it is forced to reduce the speed and increases the safety of pedestrians. Also, it will have a special vegetal treatment to dignify this entrance to the municipality.
In addition, in Mercat Street, a planter of 14 square meters will be created in which Ligustrum japonicum and native and aromatic shrubs will be planted. The signage will be renewed and the avenue of Valencia will be resurfaced. The raised pedestrian crosswalks will also be repainted to reinforce road safety.
In the same credit modification, an item of 8.751 euros is created to build a 6 meter diameter roundabout at the access junction to Pueblo del Mar and the Magnolias area, in the top del Sol. This roundabout and the signaling of these roads are also essential to improve traffic safety and order a crossing now
troubled.
The current mayor and his councilors have carried out intensive diagnostic work together with the Local Police and the municipal mobility technicians in the Poble Nou de Benitatxell to detect the problems that required urgent actions, such as regulating heavy traffic and reducing the speed in the area of Calistros (the streets give access to the Cumbre del Sol and are used to avoid the retentions that the traffic lights produce at the entrance to the municipality). Now with the construction of the mentioned roundabouts the local government takes another step in the project to give mobility agility and increase road safety.
The government team is also working on a solution for the retentions in the access to the municipality and the crossing of the detour to the Cumbre del Sol.
