Les Fogueres de Sant Joan de Xàbia 2023 have started. The voice of Arantxa Pons, Regina Major de la Foguera, when reading the Proclamation from the balcony of the Town hall together with Regina Infantil, Júlia Leyda, kicked off the long-awaited parties. The Plaza la Iglesia was full of residents and clubs who wanted to celebrate, together with the Quintà of 2023 'A rebolcons', the start of the Fogueres.
But before this moment, full of joy and songs, the traditional parade of the Proclamation was held, a parade that runs through the Historic Center, the Freginal and Thiviers neighborhoods.
As planned, after 21:00 p.m., the fifth and child charges, together with authorities, ended the parade by entering the square to proceed, among the crowd, to welcome Les Fogueres de Sant Joan 2023 from Xàbia. Now they are ahead two intense weeks of events that will culminate on the night of June 24 with the Cremà.
At night, the clubs celebrated the traditional sobaquillo dinner in the Plaza de la Constitución and at midnight, there was no shortage of songs to the saints located in the different niches in the streets of the historic center.
