Xàbia will host this Sunday, May 1, the first stop of the Lliga d'Handbol Platja. The town of La Marina Alta will be the first stop of the comxicotetion that will tour the Valencian Community during the month of May.
From 9:30 a.m., the Playa del Arenal It will decorate its three playing fields to host about 50 matches in the six participating categories, where more than 250 participants will enjoy the Xàbia arena in the return of the Valencian comxicotetion.
Together with the Lliga d'Handbol Platja, the Technical Area of the Valencian Community Handball Federation will hold the first concentration of the Autonomous Beach Handball Teams in their preparation for the Spanish Championship, which will be held from 24 to June 26 in Sanxenxo (Pontevedra).
El Javea Town Hall has hosted this Thursday the presentation of the town as the venue for the Valencian beach handball comxicotetion. An act to which they have attended Alberto Tur, as a sports manager; Pep Hierro, director of Club Handbol Xàbia; and Miguel Soria, head of the Projects Department of the FBMCV.
Alberto Tur thanked the Federation for the "trust placed in our town when it comes to scheduling its comxicotetions, thus maintaining the motivation of local athletes to give the best of themselves before their public and at the same time, supporting their dissemination in the population". The sports councilor of the Xàbia City Council has stressed "the support of the consistory for handball, a sport that has experienced great growth in recent years and, especially in the beach modality, in which local teams have won great titles in recent seasons."
Pep Hierro has acknowledged being "very happy with the choice of Xàbia as the starting point of the Lliga Valenciana d'Handbol Platja, which makes our municipality the epicenter of beach handball in the Valencian Community thanks to the City Council's commitment to sport ”. The manager of the Club Handbol Xàbia has not missed the opportunity to "congratulate four players from our club who have been called by the Royal Spanish Handball Federation to participate in the preparation of the Youth Warriors of the Arena on their way to the World Cup. this June in Greece”.
Miguel Soria has highlighted "the role that Xàbia plays in beach handball in our Community, consolidating itself as one of the leading venues in the Lliga d'Handbol Platja, repeating for the fifth consecutive edition within the circuit."
