Xàbia is reunited with the traditional celebration of Santa Llúcia

After two years with the party conditioned by the pandemic, Xàbia is reunited with one of its most popular religious festivals. This is the traditional celebration of Santa Llúcia, which has its hermitage on a small hill at the foot of the Montgó and which is decorated every December 13 to welcome hundreds of people who go up in a pilgrimage.

The celebration will begin on the eve of the party, on the afternoon of Monday, December 12. At 19:30 p.m. there will be the traditional parade calling for the party starring the festeros who will walk the streets of the Historic Center accompanied by music and distributing sweets and mistela. On his way down the street of Santa
Llúcia will offer a bouquet of flowers to the saint in her niche.

At 10:00 a.m., the authorities and partygoers will leave the church in pilgrimage to the hermitage, where a mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m.

This will be followed by the traditional procession of the images of Santa Bárbara and Santa Llúcia around the hermitage and there will be a chocolate party for all those present.
