Days after the end of the festivities in honor of Jesus of Nazareth, it is time to take stock. After celebrating the 250 anniversary of the coming of the Nazarene Xàbia, President of the Brotherhood, Vicente Tur, simply an expression in mind: GRACIES XABIA in capitals.
Tur collaboration highlighted in the book of celebrations of all parish priests born in Xàbia: former parish priest, Vicente Gilabert, and today, Salvador Torrent, and the massive participation of residents. In preparing book also helped the Benedictine nun Maria Antonia Cervera Cardona; Bas Codina Juan Bautista, Juan Sapena, María José Guardiola and Vicente Castelló Salines.
The book, written by José Font, commemorates the 250 anniversary of the arrival, and 1000 has printed books that are on sale at the La Rulla stationery store in the town and at home in the port of Jesus. But there have been more remarkable events around this celebration, such as the video edition of Fran Marín Cholbi to which, at this moment, unpublished images are being added up to now.
But undoubtedly the most extraordinary event was the transfer of the image of the Nazarene Duanes of Vicente Tur Mar. were very emotional moments, and citizen participation was massive, especially thanking the bearers of the Nazarene work done . Tur also highlighted the ceremonies presided over by Esteban Escudero Auxiliary Bishop and the 3 May, Archbishop Antonio Cañizares with both sung by the parish choir Customs del Mar. For the president of the Brotherhood was especially relevant detail César Sánchez President of the Provincial council of Alicante, for sharing the celebration with all neighbors.
If the president highlights something in the Nazarene festivities, it is undoubtedly the liturgical and religious acts, which take precedence over the holidays. Of all of them, he highlighted the offering of flowers, which was more massive than other years. In this sense, Tur recalled that it was in the month of October, when they began to talk with the town hall, the two parishes and all the party commissions to enhance this anniversary.
Collaboration of the shops of the historic center
Since last year the merchants of the historic center have been incorporated into make crosses in the windows and this year has seen increased participation in Customs del Mar. Also this year, within the celebrations, they patronized the BeerFest with the departments of trade and parties. Asimosmo, farce and monologues also had their moment in the tent of the Plaza de la Constitution.
As for the pyrotechnic shows, Tur acknowledged that "connoisseurs have congratulated me" for both the mascletà and the fireworks.
Nazarene without bott bou
This was the second year in which the parties have not held Nazareno embolat bou bou and encaixonat after a mayoral decree forbid it. In this regard, the president of the Brotherhood says "we abide by the town hall decision". But despite not having these activities, bullfighting afternoon ended with an entry of bulls.
Other entities have collaborated
This year, the Nazareno de Xàbia parties have had the collaboration of various local sentidades. These include the Tuna of Jávea, with evening round in the parish of the port and the Grup de Dances Portitxol in the encounter between Jesus and the Virgin of Loreto.
THE 250th anniversary of the arrival of the Nazareno to Xàbia has met the expectations of organizers and neighbors. And from now on, and forever, the sculpture made by the local artist, Tony Mari, is witness of it from the precinct of the parish of the port.
