The department Servicios Sociales de Xàbia wants to thank, once again, the continued support it receives from the Club Leones de Xàbia, an entity with which it maintains a close collaboration throughout the year.
This week, the charity association has delivered 3.000 euros in food vouchers that will be distributed among vulnerable families during these Christmas dates. The Lions are also in charge of paying for some products such as glasses in cases of need, providing the municipal social care area with a faster response than the administration can offer.
The councilor, Rita Berruti, wants to value the charitable work of this group and other entities always willing to contribute to the well-being of others. In fact, recently the department has also received a check for 200 euros from the paddle tennis association.
Solidarity in Xàbia is reinforced even more on these dates. Many of the educational centers promote actions to support local entities that work for a better society. An example is the CEIP Port of Xàbia that last week held a charity auction of art pieces made by the students and managed to raise 923 euros for the APASA animal protector.
