Around 15 hours today, the alarm has gone off in the Rebaldí area of Xàbia due to a forest fire.
A crew of Firefighters from the Alicante Provincial Consortium, two units of Forest Firefighters from the Generalitat Valenciana, a forestry coordinator, Civil Guard, Civil Protection, Volunteer Firefighters from Balcony to the Sea and Local Police have been immediately mobilized. Aerial means to quell the flames has also joined the firefighting efforts.
The Local Police and the Civil Guard are coordinating the operation and request that the population refrain from approaching to browse and thus facilitate the work of the means of extinction.
At around 17 pm, the fire has been considered controlled and the extinction work continues. After 20 hours the fire was extinguished.
