The works of Xàbia have resumed: the Auditorium takes shape and the Paseo de la Caleta is finished

After the storm comes calm, and the return to normality is practically imminent. With the de-escalation of confinement, both people and activities return to their daily and habitual course, albeit in a different way.

Since the beginning of 2020, Xàbia has suffered several difficulties. The passage of the stormy Gloria through our municipality caused innumerable damages throughout the town, the coastal strip being the most affected. Recovered from this episode and with a view to having all the damages on the verge of spring, the COVID-19 arrives, making recovery work even more difficult since all activity is suspended, and with it, all administrative procedures; citizens must be at home.

After this confinement, and once part of the pandemic was overcome, the return to normality is revealed by the announcement of the return to "new normal". The recovery of the day to day allows progress in everything that we leave pending, yes, by adopting the relevant sanitary measures.

In Xàbia, public works that allow the improvement of the city and facilities for citizens are already underway. One of the great works is that of the Municipal Auditorium, a highly demanded infrastructure, which is beginning to take shape.

Another construction that was paralyzed was in the Duanes de la Mar area. Work on the Triana Bridge and the remodeling of the sidewalks of Avenida dels Furs have been resumed. And as for the repair of the damages caused by the stormy Gloria, the operators are already working on the repair of the glass of the Exhibition Hall of the Casa del Cable and the tourist information point of the Arenal Beach.

Likewise, the recovery of the access walk to Caleta (Paseo l'Escala-Empuris) is finished and they are now working on the removal of the floating wooden planks with which the strip in front of the Guillermo Pons roundabout was paved and which were also damaged by the storm. From the Town hall They have indicated that since this material was not easy to maintain, it has been decided to take advantage of this work and replace it with paving stones.
