They renew and create new climbing routes in Cala Ambolo de Xàbia

The passion to enjoy outdoor sports is felt in Xàbia. The climbing group of the Xàbia Excursionist Center (CEX) has made it possible, throughout the 2018, that sports and mountain lovers can make their outings and at the same time know Xàbia from another point of view.

On this occasion, climbing the mountain and having the sea at your feet is an extraordinary sensation. Xàbia tells the rocky part of the Cala de Ambolo, an area where the existing climbing routes were unsafe since the anchors, installed 30 years ago, did not count in the best conditions. The initiative of the CEX group was to recover these routes and enjoy their sport at home and also make it accessible to tourists and visitors in view of the great demand and interest on the part of visitors in the tourist office. The guide can be found in this document. Croquis vies de ambolo

After transferring the xicotetion to the Department of Sports, with Vicente Colomer in charge, the CEX received a grant to rehabilitate the climbing routes of Cala Ambolo. With this financial contribution and the means of the Center Excursionist, the group of climbers has recovered some 30 routes and has created new ones, making active, for the moment, a total of 42, "Although we continue to recover and make them accessible to all levels, with even the children of some 8 years starting in this world", explains to Xàbia.com, the climbing vocal of the CEX, Juanfran Bisquert.

Juanfran points out that in the new actions, in the placement of anchors, "These are made of stainless steel to prevent them from oxidizing and degrading by the sea breeze like the previous ones".

New purpose, Cap de la Nau

Another of the emblematic places of Xàbia and that offers magnificent views is the Cabo de la Nau, place where now, the climbing group of the CEX is studying to act, "Following the line of Ambolo, we are seeing the possibility of retrofitting the roads of Cabo de la Nao. A place with more access difficulty compared to Ambolo but offering a good experience", indicates Bisquert.

A purpose for which they would like to have some help from the session to carry it out and thus promote a new arrival of tourism.
