The Xàbia Moors and Christians festivities have started their program of events. Last night the kick-off took place with the first of the official acts, the Presentation of the costumes of each filà and of course, the official proclamation of the Filà Almoriscos as Captaincy 2023.
Within this act, the Sant Jaume Awards are delivered, an emotional moment in which the Festival Board awards this award to those people linked to the festivals who have played a prominent role so that the festivals continue to grow throughout their history.
Thus, in this 2023, the recognitions of Premis Sant Jaume have been for: Francisco Moya, Enrique Bella and Vicente Teruel (the latter posthumously). The three received the award and it is that the three have contributed to forging the Moors and Christians festival in historical periods and different circumstances from their respective ranks, in their participation in the Festival Board and in their treatment of the great festive family.
