PP opinion: «The construction sector, public enemy of the government of Xàbia»

12 2018 April - 11: 23

Xàbia residents who want to carry out works and reforms will have to think more carefully, and is that the slow and expensive process of obtaining a license is now added a disproportionate increase in the Tax on Buildings, Installations and Works, known by the ICIO and the increase in the Rate for Urban Development Procedures, known by the TAMU.

The rise represents an increase of 33% compared to what was being paid up to now. This rise, despite the protests made by opposition councilors, has been approved by the government team in plenary, and right now we find that, in Xàbia, only to obtain the building permit the Town hall will charge us 7% of the Work Execution Budget, this percentage is divided into 3% for the payment of the Fee (TAMU) and 4% for the payment of the Tax (ICIO).

The construction sector with a significant impact on the local economy of Xàbia is the target of the target for the local government of the PSOE. The reason, as explained by the executive - the replacement of income for capital gains declared illegal by the Supreme Court - which paradoxically continue to be charged unlike other public entities such as SUMA that has frozen the collection of said tax until have
Clear instructions. In Xàbia for more abundance; Taxes are increased on a strategic sector for the entire local economy such as construction and the tax on the increase in the value of land continues to be collected: Goodwill.

In the same way, it is paradoxical that construction is demonized from the local executive and that simultaneously they turn it into the backbone of municipal revenues.

Recall that, to date, the local government has been unable to submit a project of municipal budgets for 2018 and that resort to the increased cost of construction; in all its variants (reforms, new constructions, etc ...) is the simplest way to square out old accounts.

Nothing more clarifying to understand this increase of the ICIO tax and the TAMU rate than to compare what we pay those of Xàbia with respect to what the neighboring populations pay to obtain the same works license. The conclusion is simple; Xàbia leads the fiscal pressure on construction.
