The Moors and Christians festivities in Xàbia continue to grow and they do so with the incorporation of a new Filà, the Fila Bandoleres. 14 young women from Xàbia make up this Christian squad and thus equalize the forces of the Christian side allowing, after decades, to equalize its number of troops to that of the Moorish side. The festivities have a total of 12 troops, six Moors and six Christians.
In addition, the incorporation of this filà to the Moors i Cristians festival not only equates the factions but also the number of women and men that make up the festival, thus demonstrating its equality.
The Filà Bandoleres became known in the celebration of the Mig Any de las Fiestas on the first weekend of March. The members of the new filà lived each of the acts with joy: entrees, gala lunch and lunch. The 14 young women have joined the great family of Moros i Cristians de Xàbia, "we feel welcomed by the rest of the members of the filaes and we appreciate their encouragement and advice for the celebration of the month of July".
