They are days of solidarity and many organizations and individuals remember, during these days, the most disadvantaged people. One of them is Silvia Barnish, a Uruguayan woman who has lived in Xàbia for 18 years ago and for 13 has held a party for the children of Preventorio Nuestra Señora del Amparo del Real de Gandia. A solidarity action that takes place to brighten the day to day of these kids, who as she lived, have a difficult childhood.
Barnish, throughout the year, collects toys and receives donations to be able to deliver these children on the day of their Christmas party and that event has been held today, December 10, in the soccer field of Xàbia. A total of 50 children have enjoyed this party that lacked details: popcorn, cotton candy, inflatables, games, the visit of Santa Claus, etc.
Silvia has explained that these boys and girls, "They are not orphans, but their family situation is complicated by what they live in the preventive during the week and on weekends they go to their homes." Barnish has commented that this year they have raised a total of 15.000 euros thanks to donations from real estate agents, associations and individuals.
The organizer has explained that the money contributed by the entities goes to food, heating and transportation of train trips that children make to their homes on weekends. In addition, Barnish has indicated that once a month he goes to the center to celebrate with his children their anniversaries and contribute donations.
