The Brotherhood of Jesús Nazareno, in collaboration with the Department of Fiestas, once again offers a complete program of celebrations in honor of the sentimental patron of the xabieros. Eight days of intense activity that begin with the bous al carrer in the Convent square (from Wednesday the 26th to Saturday the 29th of April) and that will end with the solemn procession of the Ascent of the image of Jesus Nazareno to the hermitage of Calvario the afternoon of May 3.
There will be no shortage of classics, such as Children's Day (Monday, May 1), with lunch and games for the little ones in the Plaza de la Constitución, the giant paella, the parade to visit the Cruces de Mayo that the Mayorales (also Monday, May 1 at 20:2 p.m.), the offering of flowers to Jesús Nazareno (Tuesday, May XNUMX) and the evenings with the farce The soldier of Palma represented by the group Tot Rist and the theatrical representation of Don Mendo's Revenge offered by Garum Theatre. For these performances, a tent will be installed in the Plaza de la Constitución where the following weekend (May 5 and 6) the Xàbia Folk will be held.
The programming also includes collaborations with other festive entities such as the mobile disco on Friday the 28th or an afternoon on Saturday the 29th, both organized by the 2023 captaincy Filà Almoriscos and the Commission of Fogueres in the Plaza Constitución.
As for the most religious part, a triduum will be held in honor of Jesús Nazareno from Sunday, April 30 to Tuesday, May 2, and on the 3rd there will be a solemn sung Eucharist at noon (followed by a mascletà) and the Ascent procession , which will put the finishing touch on a spectacular fireworks display.
