Les Fogueres de Sant Joan de Xàbia are already just around the corner. During the night of yesterday, Wednesday, in the Plaza de la Iglesia, the last previous act took place before giving the go-ahead to the festivities. The delivery of bands and badges to the festive officials brought together dozens of people who eagerly and excitedly await Les Fogueres of 2023.
The act began with the delivery of the honor award, an initiative that has been carried out since 2022 and with which recognition is made to those people who have given themselves to the festivities so that each year they were a success and that they were growing. On this occasion, the honorary award has gone to Manolo Buigues. Likewise, the Fogueres Festival Commission has granted him the privilege of lighting a fire for the Nit dels Focs de Sant Joan.
Subsequently, the badges were delivered to the representatives of the Fogueres de Sant Joan 2023 by the president of the Commission, Rafa Marí, the mayor, José Chulvi and the party councillor, Kika Mata.
As last year, in addition to the delivery of bands, the queens and presidents, both of the Quintà 2023 'A rebolcons', and of the Youth and Children's Commission, have been given a replica of the most beautiful jewel in the treasure de Xàbia, thus replacing the delivery of the crown.
Now everything is starting to work. There are only a few days left for the children's ladies, Marta Martínez and Abril Escudero, the children's Queen, Júlia Leyda, the youth presidents, Shaila Esquinas and Sergi Pons, the presidents of the Quintà, Adriana Fernández and Àlex Salva, as well as the ladies of the Regina Major, Lucía Llidó and Elia Marí, and the Regina, Arantxa Pons Escudero, are proclaimed and the festivities of 2023 begin.
