Today December 28, also the day of the Holy Innocents, Xàbia Histórica celebrates the day of Solidarity. To begin with, the shops in the Historic Center of Jávea will do a great job on this day by offering a percentage of what they collect throughout the day and the recipients of that donation will be none other than the most disadvantaged boys and girls in the municipality. But the merchants will not be the only ones with the opportunity to collaborate with a good cause during this day, since at 12:00 p.m. the tree of wishes that has been installed in the Plaza de la Iglesia will be inaugurated. The way to collaborate is by buying colored ribbons worth 1 euro on which each one will write their wish and which will then be hung on the tree. The money raised will be used to buy food vouchers for those most needy families in Jávea, a great initiative of the Red Cross and the department of Servicios Sociales which has as its motto "This Christmas we want your wishes and ours are met. Yours are secret, but ours is clear: no one goes hungry".
But this great day does not end here as it continues with the night of solidarity candles. The candles can be purchased at the Red Cross of Jávea, at the Jávea Weekly office or at the Social Center, however from 17:00 p.m. at 20:00 p.m. the Red Cross of Jávea will be in charge of selling the candles that start at 20:00 p.m. will be installed around the Church of St. Bartholomew from Jávea, without a doubt an act that will be supportive and beautiful at the same time. But the little ones will also have their place within this day since 10:00 h. at 13:00 p.m. and from 17:00 h. at 20:00 p.m. in the Placeta del Convent there will be activities, games and inflatables for them.
