This coming weekend the TriXàbia Memorial Edu Monfort returns and does so with more force than ever. After the 2020 stoppage as a result of the pandemic, one of the most important sporting events in the town will be held this Sunday, September 12, in the morning, from the Arenal Beach.
A total of 660 athletes will participate in the three modalities that make up the TriXàbia with the novelty that among them there will be five participants with functional diversity, which shows the commitment of the xabiero club to open the doors to all athletes.
The president of the Llebeig Athletics Club, Madelane Powell, has indicated that the organization of the test has all the necessary adaptations so that the five paratriathletes can perform the three segments of this test.
Powell has outlined that the recovery of this test has been adapted to the circumstances still in force of the pandemic, "for this reason we put a limit on registrations, which were sold out in the first week and with the idea of holding a sustainable event, outside of crowds ".
Likewise, the Xàbia athletics club also continues with the social commitment to eliminate plastics and during the test there will be metal containers to provide water to the athletes.
For the realization of this sporting event there will be around 200 volunteers who will help to carry out the test correctly, as well as with the collaboration of the Local Police, Civil Protection, the Red Cross and the Nautical Club.
During the presentation, both the mayor and the sports councilor thanked the Llebeig Athletics Club for the work carried out to carry out this and the rest of the sports events that add extra value to the municipality with the arrival of athletes from other towns.
From the club and his own town hall Citizens have been encouraged to follow this event either from the Arenal, where the swimming test will take place and will be the starting and finishing point for the running and cycling tests, or to encourage the participants from a safe point of view. the Plá road where the cycling race will take place.
