Hundreds of residents have participated in the ordeal of Calvary

At 6:45 am on Good Friday today, hundreds of neighbors waited in the Plaza de la St. Bartholomew Church to start the Stations of the Cross. A religious act that marks the path that Jesus made before his crucification.

In procession, the neighbors accompanying the image of Jesus Nazareno begin the journey from the Church to Calvary stopping at each of the stations. 14 Chapels that there is on the way to Calvary which represent, by means of pictures, the last steps of Jesus before death.

At each of the stops, Christians and parishioners meditate and pray for the passion and death of Jesus Christ. After the end of the Stations of the Cross, the image of Jesus Nazareno has returned to the Church and the neighbors have moved to the Mercat de Xàbia where chocolate and mona were offered.
