Since last August 25, the fishing district of Duanes de la Mar has lived its patron saint festivities in honor of the Mare de Déu de Loreto in a special way. In a symbolic way and without crowds, the Festival Committee has worked to carry out the main events of these festivals that turn 125 years old.
In the first week, from August 25 to September 2, the Novena took place at the Parish of the Sea, where dozens of parishioners came these days to receive the Virgin. Also, on Thursday, September 2, the new mantle of the Virgin was blessed, courtesy of a parishioner, in commemoration of the 125th anniversary.
During the weekend, humor, music, color and joy returned to the streets. The concerts, the decorations and the live performances filled the port of Xàbia with atmosphere. In addition, members of the festival commission made a visit to the Historic Center and an offering to the Virgin in the chapel located on Loreto street.
The big days of the festivities resumed their prominence. The offering, the day of Christ and of course, the day of its patron, have been special events. In a staggered manner, the residents and groups of the town approached the Church of Our Lady of Loreto to offer to the Virgin and the Holy Christ of the Sea.
And today, September 8, the fishing district, celebrates its last day of celebration and dedicated to the Mare de Déu del Loreto. Awakening, music, solemn mass and veneration of the Virgin are the acts that today put the final touch on the celebration of the 125th anniversary of the patron saint festivities in honor of the Mare de Déu de Loreto.
