The paid parking starts in the coves of La Granadella and La Barraca (Portitxol) in Xàbia

31 July 2023 - 18: 41

During this week, park in the Cala Granadella or Barraca cove (Portitxol) will cost 9 euros per day, as stipulated in the previous legislature. The new vehicle control system with paid parking will come into operation during the first week of August. The company responsible for this service has already installed the vending machines, and after carrying out the appropriate tests, they will come into operation.

The new paid parking system will be active until September 10, 2023, as well as on weekends - Friday to Sunday - in September and October until October 12.

Parking will be regulated with the presence of a controller per cove from 8:00 a.m. to 18:00 p.m. Likewise, the payment schedule for being parked on the beach will be from 9:00 a.m. to 19:00 p.m. It is only necessary to issue one ticket per day and per space.

parking spaces

The number of places may vary depending on the needs of the Javea Town Hall although for the moment they have been regulated 130 places parking in Pic Tort Street (Cala Granadella) Y 59 places in the Calle de la Barraca (Cala Portitxol).

This measure is implemented in order to protect the natural environment since in recent years the number of visitors to both coves has increased, as well as an overload of vehicles.

Surveillance service

Regarding the security surveillance service and auxiliary services such as access control to the Granadella and Portitxol coves in Xàbia, awarded to the company Vectalia, the service began this past Saturday, July 29.

It should be remembered that this control was being carried out first by local police officers, and then by security guards, urgently hired until the start of operation of the company, to control the entry of vehicles and avoid accumulations.

Public transportation

Regarding the public transport service to access each of the coves, it seems that this 2023 will not be able to take place either. The company that was awarded the service met 100% of the requirements for the vehicles and to date no other company has been reported to carry out the service or that it has been tendered.

There are queues at the Cala Granadella parking meter. Could someone from the company help to expedite getting the ticket? Do I have to leave the piece of paper in the car or is it enough to pay?

  2. Frits says:

Wanneer een inrij verbod bij de Igor Stravinsky street, alleen toegang voor residenten.

  3. Madness says:

What is sad is having to go to Denia, Oliva, or even Gandía to spend a quiet day with the family on the beach.
They arrive here, deceived, they pay a lot for a shabby apartment or a chalet that is falling apart, and then they have to go many kilometers every day to bathe.
    Madness has settled as normal.
Jávea was loaded, but it continues to be sold as an "idyllic little paradise" LITTLE ????? hahahahahaha
Come on, there is room at the bottom!

  4. Luis says:

Either that or Chaos. What would be the solution if not? Proposals.

    • consented saturation says:

      Stop sign New Construction?
Leaving a season of spending money to continue promoting Jávea?
      Stop attending Fitur?
Enable the bathroom in a better disposition Mountains 1 and 2?
Because Chaos has existed for many years now, charging to go to the coves or not charging, they are MASSIVE!!

      • Luis says:

Interesting proposals, especially to stop promoting Javea and stop attending Fitur. But meanwhile, what do you do with everyone who comes?

        • consented saturation says:

» Enable the bathroom in a better disposition Montañar 1 and 2 »
Two huge areas for the bathroom that are totally underused.

        • Luis says:

Strange that these areas are underused. What do you think is the reason?

  5. Ivanz says:

They have solved the problem with a “tax”. Great job!

  6. María says:

I don't even go to a cove for free where there are more people than in the Metro at rush hour.
I am not exaggerating, go check it out if you have value and money.
I wonder what people mean by 'vacation', I don't get it.

    • Javier says:

Either access to the coves of Javea is limited, or there will be nothing left to visit. neither in summer nor in winter

    • Juan Pedro says:

neither do I, how scary, and what a great vacation model… between that, the contaminated Arenal and the Fontana, you already want to come

  7. Carles says:

A great system, as always those that can be paid for, gasoline, parking and a beach bar are the masters of the world. The rest of us will wait until December to go to the beach (ironic).
