Ximo Segarra: «My main objective is to facilitate the daily life of the neighbors»

With 27 years he is the youngest councilor of the government team. But despite his youth, Ximo Segarra, faces his second term as a councilor with new challenges and with new councilors.

Segarra has gone from being the Councilor for Youth, Transparency and New Technologies to be at the forefront of the Treasury, Contracting, Internal Regime, Historic Center, and repeat in Transparency and New Technologies. Likewise, in the area of ​​the Treasury, Ximo Segarra has set itself the objective "make the City Council more agile by establishing new mechanisms that facilitate and expedite the procedures for citizens and, of course, the main objective is to get the 2020 budget". Regarding Recruitment, Segarra highlights planning, structuring and carrying out a crash plan "So that as soon as possible, we can take out all the pending steps paralyzed by the overflow we have had due to the new contract law".

In the area of ​​the historic center, the mayor points out that it is a council that welcomes with special enthusiasm, "I grew up in this neighborhood and I will work to reactivate it and correct the deficiencies". Segarra indicates that he will implement the proposal of Historic Xàbia in which there is a bonus on the opening rates of new businesses to promote this urban nucleus. "

"I want to get administrative agility"

As for the portfolio of Internal Regime, the mayor has clarified that it will be installed in the OAC A computer for citizens, assisted by City Council staff, to learn how to process their requests, thus promoting the agility of document processing. Also the implementation of obtaining the registration certificate through the web and the biometric signature, are other objectives of the councilor that are underway.

For this term, Ximo Segarra hopes to end his proposal to eliminate or at least reduce the role, an action that began in the previous period as a councilor for new technologies but has not been able to finish 100%, "I want all the procedures to be electronic in order to speed up the administration, avoid overlapping and most importantly eliminate paper consumption."

But the ideas and desire to work of this young councilor go further and hopes, that in the next four years, to have implemented free Wi-Fi throughout the municipality, "Since we have requested it twice and we have been dismissed" and that Xàbia is a Smart City, "a system with which we will optimize resources and services as well as improve the daily lives of our citizens".
