160 people attend the Solidarity Gala of the Rotary Club Jávea

Last September 21 held the Solidarity Gala of the Rotary Club of Jávea in order to raise funds and deliver the Rotary Recognitions 2018 to the people chosen by the jury, formed by 11 members.

Antonio Erades, Ana Watt and José Erades were the winners of this year. Antonio was first a tosquero and then a fisherman. His altruistic work with the elderly and sick of the Asilo Hermanos Cholbi, to which he visits every Sunday to play the guitar and encourage them the day has made him deserve this award, they have affirmed from the Rotary Club.

On the other hand, José Erades, has been chosen for his wide dedication to citizenship: High school teacher and promoter of chess in the classrooms, scriptwriter of the Living Chess and collaborator of the program of the parties of the Mare de Déu de Loreto.

And Ana Watt has been awarded for a long history of local performances among which the creation of the Handicrafts Fair is now 35 years ago, launch the program of safe school routes, carry out the project of solidarity triads for the Foundation Vicente Ferrer and the most recent action, the creation of the Way of the Alba-Camino de Santiago that leaves from Jávea and connects with Almansa to follow Santiago de Compostela through the Camino de la Lana.

The dinner, attended by 160 people, was enjoyable for diners and exciting for the winners. The act was presented by Juan Codina and Pepa Guardiola. In addition, the Club had the collaboration of several companies and businesses that donated 151 total gifts for the raffle. A raffle with which the Rotary of Jávea raised money to acquire tablets and destine them to third and young centers, and thus help their cognitive development.
