Xàbia once again offers foreign neighbors the opportunity to learn Spanish

August 21 from 2023 - 14: 37

The Department of Relations with Residents, directed by Toni Molina, has started this Monday the Spanish course for foreigners that it promotes together with the Diputación de Alicante in order to promote the integration of the foreign population.

The course takes place at the facilities of the municipal library and has 60 students and will last during the months of August and September. The teacher is Isabel Sodric and the students have been divided into two levels: Basic and Intermediate.

The Councilor for Relations with Residents, Toni Molina, has highlighted that this type of course allows people who are of foreign origin to learn our language and has also invited them to come to the Municipal Library, where they can obtain their free membership card to borrow books in both Spanish/Valencian to improve their learning.

Likewise, for the entire community of residents, the Library has an international section with books in English, French, German and Dutch that are managed by the international residents themselves with the collaboration of the staff of the Municipal Library of Xàbia.

Please advise how to register for lessons. I am now resident here and really need to learn the language

  2. Antoni says:

In order for my son to integrate into the United Kingdom, I had to spend a lot of money, let the gentlemen cut their pockets
That there are a lot of people standing around who can teach them Spanish and surely much cheaper than what they charge.

  3. Bouvier Valerie says:

What luck, I'm French, I've been learning Spanish for a year.
It is a dream to live one day in Javea that is in my heart

  4. serge bernard says:

Nous regrettons mon épouse et moi that nos candidatures n'aient pas été retenues.
Est-ce seems that our sommes “étrangers non résidants”.
Inhabitant et résidant à Javea plus 5 mois dans l'année, learn the Spanish langue serait appreciable pour nous.
    cordially

  5. Encarna Martínez Oliveras says:

I think an excellent idea. Hopefully foreigners see the opportunity they have to speak the language of the country in which they reside, we already know that there are British who have been in Jávea for more than 20 years and have not shown any interest in speaking it.

    • Luis says:

The same with Germans, Swiss, Dutch etc...they come here and on top of that they look at you as if you were the stranger.

    • Uno says:

Why not think about helping local students by giving them
Language classes, and with it reduce expenses for families and benefits for young people to continue their studies.
Young people do not contribute income to the family, while the others have
      Income or pensions.

      • Vicente says:

There are public and private schools, academies and private teachers. Did you know? Well choose. By the way the syntax of your comment is terrible. Sign up for a course.
