Xàbia increases the budget of the Freginal Sports Pavilion by 7%

13 October 2022 - 12: 29

The stoppage of works due to the increase in materials due to the crisis in the supply of raw materials and the cost of energy due to the war in Ukraine has led to the Javea Town Hall to anticipate the problem and carry out a review of the budget of the construction project of the new one and becoming the second sports pavilion that will be located, on this occasion, in the Freginal area.

According to the councilor for sports, Alberto Tur, "before the project passes final approval by the Commission and plenary session and the work can be put out to tender, a review of the price has been carried out and the budget has been reconsidered at 8.303.534,92 euros, an increase of 7% with compared to the initial valued at 7.749.499,30 euros. A definitive project that already has the approval of technicians and construction managers".

Other sports projects in Xàbia

Added to the future construction of the Freginal sports complex is the improvement of other sports facilities as well as the advanced execution of the municipal indoor swimming pool.

As Tur has commented, "at this moment the basic project for the adaptation of the facilities of Les Mesquides where the improvement of the changing rooms is contemplated giving unity to the paddle tennis courts, the construction of a third paddle tennis court and the improvement of the accessibility of the
building, a project that is now being worked on with clubs and users of this field.

In addition to these large projects, the mayor has advanced that progress is still being made in the matter and the replacement of the
artificial turf that is waiting for the Diputación to award the work, in order to give shape to a new complex".

On the other hand, and together with the Municipal Swimming Pool, the mayor of sports has outlined the Plan for the need to renew the roof (roof) of the Palau d'Esports Miguel Buigues Andres, as well as the pavement and the connection with the municipal swimming pool.

Likewise, other projects that the council is working on are in the Municipal Infrastructure Master Plan to contemplate the relocation of a new athletics track and fronton courts.

For his part, the mayor of Xàbiam José Chulvi, has stated the importance of readjusting the final price of the future Pavilion project, "a complex that will have state-of-the-art facilities and will be a reference center in some disciplines". Chulvi added that the improvements in the rest of the sports infrastructure are also important "although they are smaller actions, they are no less important since continuity must be given to the existing facilities, as is the case with Les Mesquides".

The Second Pavilion project

The projected sports center will have two floors above ground and is proposed in an integrated way with the existing ratchet, so that visually from the outside they will be a single building and simplify the management of its access and concierge work in the future.

In total there are 4.500 useful square meters, with a maximum height of 15,5 meters since high ceilings are a requirement for rhythmic gymnastics. The main space is made up of two large tracks. One of them will be for the futsal, handball, roller hockey, volleyball and basketball comxicotetion, a versatility that will be achieved after finding a special pavement that makes the use of skates compatible.

The other zone will be devoted to martial arts –with a tatami area- and to rhythmic and artistic gymnastics. A climbing area (with a climbing wall and a bouldering area) and a functional training or crossfit area have also been planned. On the first floor, the space is dedicated to visitors and spectators of sports activities, with stands
removable to fit the needs of each event, and have an area adapted for people with reduced mobility.

In addition, this floor will have two multipurpose or coworking rooms for the ordinary management of sports clubs. Regarding the design of the building, the connection with the existing ratchet has been resolved by designing a longitudinal space between both buildings at different heights, with integrated vegetation on the roof and landscaped patios.

At an energy level, the building (which is energy efficient type B) provides for a photovoltaic installation on the roof to be self-sufficient, another solar collection installation, a refrigeration or climalit system and self-protection against fire.

    More money to distribute basically.

  2. xabiero says:

As it is clear that the elections are just around the corner, now they will want to do what they have not done all these years, it seems to me that no matter how much they run they will not have time, that is if projects and proposals are not going to missing, they should be ashamed to stand for election again after how badly they have done in recent years.

  3. July says:

The logical thing was to have expanded the Pavilion in the adjoining lot. But they use it to make a sparse and small pool for the population level. But…. that was the logical thing and in this town that word is not known.

  4. Simone says:

The garbage cans without a pedal, but a full Sports Center, that is not lacking.
    You need to be garrulous.

    INSANE.

  5. An INSULT to the citizenry says:

Well, they make very clear the mental capacity that they spend.

A Municipality with serious deficiencies, of all kinds and very serious, they know what I'm talking about, but these "people" for a Sports Center.

Nothing new, no surprise, it doesn't give them, no.

PS: In the photos, what is Chulvi laughing at? What always makes you so funny? He should come out crying over her disastrous management of him, but he laughs, incomprehensible. Does he really find out what's going on? Or does he just hear voices and colors around him?

    Chulvi, socialist?
    Well go priorities!
    You start the campaign badly.
Nice photo, I have already counted 321, unnecessary.

Well, prepare popcorn and sit down because the book for the electoral campaign will come in no time, this man is more photographed than the models on the Milan catwalk

  7. Arenal exists says:

Instead of making new projects, what needs to be done is to fix the old facilities and solve real problems of the citizens, nobody has told me if I want a new pavilion but if I want a good sewage or rainwater system or more important things that are really needed.
Once again, unnecessary works are taken out of the hat without asking the public, what is well done is how the socialist mayor of Dénia does it, who exposes the projects to be carried out to the public and the people vote for what is most needed and not waste what stupid in these times that run so bad.
You have to think more about people and less about votes.

  8. Miquel says:

Another Pavilion? With how easy it was to expand the existing one.
Will they be able to execute this unnecessary work?
If so they have a serious problem on their minds.
The opposition would have to make a motion of censure in the face of this government chaos.

The elections are coming, it's time to pretend that what hasn't been done in 11 years is being done, they are so predictable that I don't know if they are like that because they think we're stupid or because they're hesitating...
