Historic Xàbia celebrates the midday chimes in a family atmosphere

As has been the tradition for some years, the Xàbia Historical merchants association celebrates the midday chimes within a family atmosphere with, this year, a rather cold temperature. Despite this, people have taken to the streets and enjoyed the day.

The association had prepared inflatables for the little ones to have a good time and, after the chimes, the Municipal Market has been filled to celebrate the last day of the year. AIBAX & BUP have been responsible for brightening the morning with Nadalenca music that has culminated in the 12 bells. As is tradition, the Palau has prepared 400 bags of mandarin segments.

This year what does not work is the clock of the Church of Sant Bertomeu, which, since December 2, is stopped at 9.20 due to the strong storms with electrical equipment. It was tradition that people who celebrated New Year's Eve through the historic center approach the clock to say goodbye to the year, although this time they will have to look for other routes.
