Xàbia will build the much-demanded climbing wall at the Palau d'Esports

30 October 2023 - 14: 41

The Department of Sports, headed by Toni Molina, will allocate 66.740 euros to the construction of a climbing wall at the Palau d'Esports Miguel Buigues Andrés in Xàbia. As explained by the councilor, this work will be financed with help from the Provincial Council, and will enable an infrastructure of these characteristics to be enabled on one of the sides of the pavilion measuring 8 meters high and 5,50 meters wide.

The climbing wall will have five climbing routes and five climbs, with their respective plates and a minimum of 320 climbing holds, which translates into 64 climbable square meters. It will also have a fenced area two meters high and an access door.

The mayor explained that the climbing wall must be made of fiberglass with epoxy resin and can be moved if necessary.

Finally, Molina has highlighted the boost that this project has received since he joined the council since it was “a historic request” from the Xàbia Excursionist Center.
