This Sunday, January 26, the third stage of the Volta a la Marina, the benchmark cycling comxicotetion among popular cyclists in the Valencian Community, is held in Xàbia. A race where the leader, Aitor Escobar, will try to defend the jersey, since he only leads in 10 seconds Moll Saor, a cyclist who works in the ranks of the Xàbia's Bike-Fasterwear team and who seeks to deliver a coup d'état at his sponsor's home.
The test has a route of 68 kilometers with a completely flat first part. The departure will be at 10 hours from the Plaza de la Constitución and the platoon will go in the direction of taking the Jesús Pobre road. After passing through the minor entity, you will go to Gata de Gorgos, to reach the roundabout, where you will turn towards Xàbia.
The hardest part of the race and therefore where it is presumed that hostilities will be broken among the favorites are the final kilometers with the ascent to the Alto del Montgó. The finish line is installed on the same gate of the Rte. Dawn, with a straight line where the show in case two or more cyclists arrive is assured as there is land to launch a sprint.
In this edition there have been substantial changes in the organization of the Volta. This year, the professional cyclist of Xàbia, Toni Molina, is the director of this Volta that has 8 stages and 526 kilometers distributed between the Marina Alta, the Marina Baixa and the Coastal.
Both Tur and Molina and José Luis Luengo, representing the Xàbia Cycling Club, have invited all cycling fans to enjoy this event on Sunday. It is expected that there will be good weather conditions and that cyclists can enjoy where the work that the most powerful formations are going to perform will be essential for the subsequent auction of each of their leaders. It will be necessary to be attentive to the movements that the local team of Xàbia's Bike-Fasterwear can make since they will be very motivated and know perfectly the terrain where the stage will run.
