On the occasion of the departure of The Ocean Race from the port of Alicante last weekend, the Real Club de Regatas de Alicante held the Optimist B Regional Team Championship. The victory of the test was finally taken by the Club Náutico Jávea.
The team led by Fernando Puig with Marc Puig, Tomas Carbonell, Conor Woods and Blanca Díaz managed to be the best, after achieving 5 victories in the Round Robin events.
In total, Optimist B fleets from eight clubs from the Region participated: Real Club Náutico de Dénia, Real Club Náutico de Valencia (with two teams), Real Club Náutico de Torrevieja, Real Club de Regatas de Alicante (with two teams) and the El Campello Yacht Club.
In second position was the team of the Real Club Náutico de Dénia and in third the Real Club Náutico de Valencia 1. The prizes were delivered by the oceanic sailors Támara Echegoyen and Carlos Bermúdez de Castro together with Miguel López, president of the Club de Regatas de Alicante .
