A year of successes for the CB is over. Joventut Xàbia, which in this 2022 has grown in number of players and teams. With a lot of work and dedication, the basketball club says goodbye to the year in an enviable sporting situation, hoping that 2023 will be at least as good as this one.
Although many teams have demonstrated their progress and good results this year, or the confirmation of a sports project that bets on the women's section, with the first team and three school teams made up exclusively of girls, there are two teams that stand out from the rest : the male junior ROCK RENTAL and the male senior BONAPATA.
Both sets have made history in this year that we are close to saying goodbye. The juniors got promotion to the highest category of basketball in the Valencian Community, and are competing within the 16 best teams in the Valencian territory. In addition, this achievement has been achieved with a generation formed in the club, with all the players from our town, who compete week after week with the most powerful clubs and schools, many of these teams being small selections of players signed from other teams. or countries. The dimension that basketball in Xàbia is achieving thanks to these young people is enormous.
For its part, the senior team has also made history this year. After being promoted to category in April, going on to play in the regional league, the team has managed to finish the year 2022 without any defeat throughout this calendar year, adding 26 consecutive victories (16 in the preferential category in the 21/22 season). 10, and 22 in the regional category in the 23/XNUMX season).
It will be difficult to find cases of teams that have gone a whole year without losing a game, be it professional or amateur, but this achievement is incredible. It should be noted that 10 of the team's players are also trained in the club's academy, and this makes everyone aware of the green-black feeling and the values that the club instills from an early age.
These two teams are very close, the relationship being unbeatable, since many of the juniors have made their debut in the first team in recent seasons, leaving samples of their quality and being an important part of the successes of the seniors, favored from the bench run by the same person. The coach who is in charge of both teams, Oscar Butler, has worked many hours to get the two teams to share the same philosophy of play and work ethic. After 5 years directing the junior generation and currently in the 4th consecutive season with the senior generation, the hours of dedication and the demand derived from training obtaining the title of national coach, the highest degree possible in Europe, has managed to work from a a more professional point of view with the resources available to the club, without any player playing basketball professionally.
