TAPIS reform its headquarters thanks to the charity Charity Shop Library

The users of TAPIS, an occupational workshop for the mentally ill in Xàbia, now have a completely renovated, spacious and bright headquarters. In addition, the new reform is also much more comfortable to perform all the therapeutic activities that users need. The "transformation" of this place, located in one of the old houses of the teachers, has been possible thanks to the Charity Shop Library Charity Association since it has taken care of all the expenses of the interior reform.

This association is composed mostly of British residents who have observed the result of their collaboration. In addition users Tapis conducted a photographic work so that it could better appreciate the before and after and also contributed to the reform since they themselves were responsible for painting the premises. At the opening of the new headquarters of the short film each year make TAPIS users in a workshop that teaches Anna Perles was presented.

During the opening ceremony was also attended by the Mayor of Jávea, José Chulvi, mayor of Culture and education, Empar Bolufer, and the mayor of social services, Tere Bisquert, who thanked the Charity Shop Library for the important contribution they had made. The TAPIS is aimed at older people with a chronic mental illness and helps them enhance their level of competence and independence, provide support, education and advice to the family. Among the occupational tasks they perform are manual labor, sports, cooking, cultural and recreational activities, among many others.
