Team cyclists Portal de La Marina-Xabia's Bike had a great performance in the Costa Blanca Bike Race. A test had four stages after the Ade couples and Moll Saor in the category Elite UCI and formed by Dani Cepa and Javier Frasquet in the category Master 40, reaped very good results.
This cycling comxicotetion has become one of the best stage races and equipment (couple) BTT international calendar, touring the best, and toughest, paths and crossings of the Marina Baixa.
During the first stage between Benidorm and La Nucia, participants experienced an unprecedented situation, because during the course of the test someone devoted himself to move the signs, causing a real mess in the race. Referees made the decision to cancel the stage.
The second stage starting and finishing in Finestrat was a real ordeal for brothers Moll, who had many physical problems. They laid hands on seniority and character to save the furniture and finish in twenty-sixth place classification of UCI Elite partner.
By contrast, Dani Cepa and Javier Frasquet them came the stage of pearls and rolled almost always in second place. In the last kilometers, the world champion of the category snatched second place in the drawer. Still, they climbed the podium with a sensational third place.
The queen stage arrived, a marathon of more than 70 kilometers and almost 3.000 meters of positive slope. This time the roles were changed, while the Moll brothers marked a great career and entered the eighteenth position, the Cepa-Frasquet couple had the visit of "Uncle of the mallet"that hit them hard. They had to pull caste and drew strength they didn't have, to finish in fourth place. They gave up a time that ultimately was decisive.
After the marathon, the comxicotetion with the shortest stage, a time trial 7 kilometers but with a Dantesque journey closed. They went from Alfas del Pi to Albit antennas, with ramps in some areas exceed 30% gradient.
The Moll brothers continued to improve and set a good pace that allowed them to mark the seventeenth best time and finally climb to the twentieth position of General. A result which means they get ten valuable UCI points.
Dani Cepa and Javier Frasquet spine were removed yesterday to win the stage setting the fastest lap of the category M40. It was the second podium in three days and this time crowned the top. Too bad the stage victory was not enough to get the podium in the final General.
However, we must highlight his great work these days, making it clear once again that they are one of the strongest partners of the national and international scene M40 category.
