How is the weather for this Holy Week in Xàbia?

29 March 2024 - 08: 20

Easter is here, days in which residents and visitors prepare outdoor getaways to celebrate these festivities and enjoy leisure time with family and friends. But, the most important thing is to know what the weather will be like.

After several weeks in which the sun and high temperatures have been the protagonists, it seems that for this weekend things are changing in Xàbia and in the municipalities of the Marina Alta.

According to the forecast of the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET), the long weekend of celebration will begin, this Friday, with the presence of the sun but with cloudy intervals, a situation that will remain during the morning of Saturday and changing in the afternoon.

The AEMET predicts little rain during the afternoon of Saturday, although everything indicates that it could worsen for Easter Sunday with a very cloudy sky and a 90% probability of rain.

On the other hand, for the following days, starting on Easter Monday and during the first days of next week, the sun will shine again, raising the mercury between 20 and 24 degrees Celsius maximum. Of course, during the night, the temperature will drop to between 8º and 9º minimum.

Regarding the wind, it will take center stage during these days of Holy Week. This Friday, the northern coast of Alicante is on alert due to strong gusts of wind. The AEMET has activated the yellow alert for gusts that could reach 70 km/h. A notice that will disappear from 18:00 p.m. this Friday.

On the other hand, starting Sunday at midnight and until 15:00 p.m., there will be an active yellow alert for coastal phenomena with southwest winds of 50 to 60 km/h (force 7) and waves of up to 3 meters.

It presents a week full of people, without public transport, without local police, with drunks everywhere and everything very, very dirty.

On the other hand, let's not forget that the sewage discharge in the Arenal is still there, nothing has been fixed, to enjoy with the family on the beach.

Thanks Chulvi for everything, you've made it, from a bar to mayor, great!!! What could go wrong?

  2. user says:

The pathetic Public Transport we have is scandalous.
If the Mayor and his Councilors had to use it, surely we would have something worthy.
Another constant insult from Chulvi to the citizens.
As always there are more important things, Sorolla's sculpture, talks about Poseidonia, I don't know… Public Transport doesn't matter.

All my support and understanding for Erika, MIni electric buses SINCE XABIA IS VERY EXTENSIVE and I, who usually circulate on a motorcycle, do not see any of them.

  4. Erika says:

The weather will be great, that's good! And I would like to know if the bus service is going to be so great, because with all the events that are celebrated in these next days, being holidays, still nobody knows if it will work or they will leave us, as always, totally isolated . Is there a place where you can find out? The drivers, at least until today, have no idea and at City Hall, even less. If anyone knows anything, I beg you to inform me.

None of the coastal towns have a good public transport network because they have never considered it necessary and have always assumed that everyone has a car or motorcycle. At the beginning of living here I asked about buses and timetables. The response from the locals was that the bus, which only passed through the town twice a day, was for the poor. That's what they told me….for the poor…..said by locals not by someone from the City Council. With that mentality little can be done.
