El Javea Town Hall Through the Department of Environment and Civil Protection, it has installed a system that warns of the level of fire risk in the Natural Park Montgó. The implementation of this system is done in coordination with the Dianense city council.
Seven information posts have been placed in the area of The flat and in the area bordering the Jesús Pobre highway. Through color codes, the level of fire risk is marked from low to extreme. There is also a box where the situation decreed by the Government and in the Emergency Coordination Center (112) will be reflected on a daily basis, according to weather conditions.
The updating of these codes will be the task of the Civil Protection guards, in charge of carrying out the summer operation by the Xàbia city council. These volunteers carry out their fire surveillance tasks, at strategic points, in the viewpoint of Cap de Sant Antoni and in the windmills of municipal ownership.
The mayor of Civil Protection, José Luis LuengoHe thanked all the involvement of this volunteer body that from the 31 in May and until the end of September are always alert to act quickly in case of fire.
The population must cooperate to the fullest and is why any person who detected a plume of smoke should call 112.
