The mayoress of Xàbia, Rosa Cardona, closed the round table organized on Saturday by the Department of Equality and the Rotary Club Jávea with eight leading women from the municipality on the occasion of International Women's Day.
Isabel Moreno, director of the Port de Xàbia School; Isabel Martí, artistic director of the Portitxol Dance Group; Lola Ivars, agent of the Xàbia Local Police and Guiomar Ramírez-Montesinos, founder of the local newspaper 'Xàbia al día'. As well as Ana Vasbinder, director of Institutional and Commercial Relations of the HCB group; María Ángeles Mulet, director of the Mulet Cholbi Laboratory; Rosa Torres, businesswoman from Xàbia and Natalia Moskalenko, president of the Culture Against Bullets Foundation.
Throughout the interventions, the protagonists narrated their personal experiences in their sectors, and highlighted that women have a different perspective than men, "broader, more empathetic and oriented toward teamwork." Another issue that was addressed was work-life balance, which often makes it difficult for women to access positions of greater responsibility.
After the success of the round table, the council team is already studying organizing similar events throughout the year in order to continue spreading the role of the women of Xàbia.
