Root music sounds again in Xàbia with the 21st edition of the Xàbia Folk festival. A more than consolidated appointment that this year starts on April 21 with the presentation concert and that will concentrate with great concerts between May 5 and 7 in the Plaza de la Constitución with completely free admission.
The poster, created this year by Kika Crisóstomo, shows the potential of artists and in which the figure of women stands out. The first concert (Abril 21), presentation performance of the festival, will be in charge of Martha Margaix, at 20: 00 hours, in the House of Culture. The violinist Marta Margaix presents this show "el violí valencià" based on traditional and popular Valencian music in which song, dance and violin come together with the support of Loop Station technology.
Subsequently, and for three consecutive days, the best traditional music will fill the Plaza de la Constitución, the House of Culture, and the typical closing concert will be held at the Ermita de Santa Lucía. In addition, in this 21st edition the celebration of afternoon concerts is recovered; "a concept that was carried out in the early years and that returns with this edition", has indicated Joan Buigues, member of the Romàntica del Saladar, organizing collective of the Festival.

El May 5At 22:30 p.m., in the Plaza de la Constitución, there will be a concert by Teresa Salgueiro, who will present her new work 'Inside Silence' with emblematic songs from Portugal and America. This Portuguese singer, who treasures more than 30 years of professional career and 1000 concerts in the best venues in the world, is an international figure, voice of the prestigious group Madredeus.
El May 6 At 19:30 p.m., at the Casa de Cultura, Cati Plana & Pau Puig will perform. catty flat
(diatonic accordion) and Pau Puig (dolçaina and bansuri) will present a chamber music proposal entitled 'Tretze vares'.
At night, at 22:30 p.m., in the Plaza de la Constitución, Noelia Llorens 'Titana' will perform, providing pieces from her new album. An example of the new generation of singers who will offer a selection of songs
popular and others newly created with arrangements by producer Pau Cháfer.
El May 7, at 12:00 pm, in the Hermitage of Santa Llúcia, the closing concert will be performed by Artur Blasco & Marién de Casimiro. Blasco (voice accordion and rabequet) will perform in a duo with the violinist Marién de Casimiro in an intimate concert.
The Councilor for Culture, Quico Moragues, who has highlighted the great commitment of the Romàntica del Saladar every year to bring great artists with proposals of all kinds.
For his part, from the organizing group, Antonio Torregrosa, thanked the support of the Town hall edition after edition to be able to maintain this festival, as well as the freedom to create the programming that is always based on looking for new and historical artists and highlighting the figure of the female artist.
