They prohibit bathing on the Arenal beach due to a microbiological spill

26 July 2022 - 14: 54

El Javea Town Hall informs that, as of today, Tuesday, July 26 (14:30 p.m.) and until further notice, the bathroom is closed Arenal Beach by the detection of a microbiological spill.

The last analysis carried out yesterday, Monday, by the Bathing Water Quality Control Program in the Arenal Beach has detected an episode of contamination of faecal origin, so it is advisable to prohibit bathing.

From the City Council, instructions have already been given to both the Local Police and the surveillance and lifeguard personnel to make this closure effective. The red flag will be raised and the situation will be announced by public address system. It will also be warned through the social networks of the City Council and the information channel on the state of the beaches.

First detection of high parameters

The Bathing Water Quality Control service has taken samples throughout the morning to carry out a second analysis and check if the discharge detected yesterday was punctual or is still present, and in this case, find out its origin and the actions necessary to remove it.

As soon as the analyzes confirm values consistent with a quality of water suitable for bathing, the beach will reopen. From the Ministry of Agriculture and Ecological Transition they have informed the City Council that, as a result of the rupture of the marine outfall, the Arenal beach is the most closely watched beach in the Valencian Community and that in the more than 80 analyzes carried out during the breakdown, it is the first time elevated microbiological parameters are detected.

  1. PAUL AIREY says:

we visited Arenal Beach at Easter, my 9 year old daughter was in the sea most days for a week then became extremely ill with gastroenteritis. She was the only one of the party in the sea and the only one who became ill. We believed at the time it was caused by dirty sea water. This is a scandal really and should be fully investigated

  2. Citizen says:

This has been known since March or April, but I am very surprised by the scant media coverage that has been given to the issue. 4 articles in the press and little else.
I get the feeling that the issue has been hidden by various groups. And they have done it until the situation has been unsustainable.
I believe that citizens should be treated with a little more respect.

Let's see, haven't you seen the ABOUT INFORMATION of the Festes de la TERRETA?
1.000 photos of everything, and a thousand more in each news, PARTIES, PARTIES AND PARTIES!!!!!

Meanwhile, the pipe continued to pour SHIT, SHIT, SHIT.

Thank you Chulvi for your work, thank you very much.

  3. Erika says:

They say that it is wise to rectify, I am not, but I do have to rectify a part of my comment this morning:
Indeed, there are people on the beach, but no one is swimming. Bathing is prohibited.

  4. Erika says:

If the beach is closed, why are there people on it today, July 27 at 9,43:XNUMX a.m.? What time is it supposed to close? Why have they let people bathe for all this time? And what are they going to do to reopen it, will they finally take some definitive action for this disaster? Or have they not had time since this matter, very serious for Jávea, was denounced in April?

  6. This is says:

We've been seeing a shit spill for months, and instead of fixing it, until it came out in the Levante newspaper, they dedicated themselves to denying it. Is it really possible?

Can that happen to a town that saw how the Triana bridge was cut after more than 10 years unable to carry out the work? That they granted the work of the second Montañar as long as it arrived at Easter and it arrived in September? What does a schizophrenic Scalextric have in the first Montañar? What has other works stopped like the auditorium, the swimming pool, the school, the works of Thiviers...? That every time it rains the sandbank floods? That they don't have police and they order a report from I don't know who to tell them that they pay little? That they have 9 million euros in the bank because they haven't been able to spend it? That their idyllic places have burst with works by Miami Vice? What do dirty and abandoned streets have?

CHULVI, ALL THIS IS YOU. WE WILL NEVER FORGET IT.

    • mykin says:

Completely agree, for the poses of photos on motorcycles and Christians on Face book if it is... to manage no, band of useless propagandists

  7. Pepa says:

It's a shame, they are loading Jávea. Haven't we had enough with Covid? How can politicians be so liars and sleep peacefully? Jávea is beautiful by itself because the town hall does nothing to improve it, the carelessness that exists is a shame

  8. Loreto says:

Normal , with the arrival of tourists double the amount of fecal discharges . And when August arrives it will be triple.

    • Juan says:

Here tourists have nothing to do
It's a bad management thing like everything that happens
Let's hope that those tourists don't leave because some people like it or we don't LIVE ON THEM

  9. Ana Maria says:

It would be the right time to make new choices...

  10. barts people says:

This is going to be a shitty summer.

    • Pedro Diaz Manjon says:

Resignation of the mayor and the entire team NOW they must be expelled from Javea forever and ever and appoint a manager elected in a plenary session with everyone who wants to participate until the elections and with people who have a history of knowledge and skills without waiting another day, XAVIEROS DEMONSTRATION IN THE TOWN HALL OUTSIDE CHULVI AND HIS TEAM OF INEPT, ENOUGH.

  11. Rachel says:

It is embarrassing what is happening in the Arenal, the children stuck in that water full of smelly dried weeds and so they keep saying that the water was good, when we all saw that this was a disaster, but who is in charge of all this please!! !! Everything is a mess the walk the closed cafeterias but what do you want to charge here?

  12. Citizen says:

The only possible comment would be too harsh and rude. If it weren't for the seriousness of the matter, one would simply have to let out a loud and prolonged haha haha ha.
Olé, government of Xàbia… to hell!
And you, people of the party, spokesman, keep quiet.

  13. pacagarse says:

Another cut and paste from a press release from the Ayto…

“it is advised to prohibit bathing.” I dont believe it. They will have a bathroom ban order

"elevated microbiological parameters." Come on, shit goes above the ears

    “80 analyzes carried out”
The emissary has been broken since before Easter... and now it is no longer healthy to bathe in the sandbank... It makes me think… what do the tourists who have come in July eat and shit?

Because according to our leaders and analytics, it was still an exemplary tourist beach to continue attracting more people, more houses, more parking, more noise…. indeed the blue flag is waiting to be raised proud

The problem will be malicious that will have agreed to shit at the same time

  14. Anonymous says:

After three months they prohibit bathing now, let the city council pray that no bather falls ill...
