Why are some of the 'illegal' businesses in Arenal still open?

19 2022 April - 14: 37

Seven restaurants and leisure establishments located in Punta de la Playa del Arenal of Xàbia received, during the last weeks, the municipal notification informing of the closure and cessation of its activity due to the lack of the mandatory opening license.

From that moment, those responsible for the premises had a maximum period of ten days from the receipt of the decree to close the premises and from then on, the corresponding inspection would be carried out to verify if the order had been complied with.

Now, when Holy Week arrives, more than 10 days after the Town hall announced the closure decree, why are there stores that are still open?

The question is very simple, not all the decrees were made on the same day, nor did all those responsible open their notification right away. That is, as the files were made and closed, the notifications were sent, from then on, the recipient has a maximum period to collect and open their notification, which is when the 10 days to make the closure effective begin to count. Thus, one of those responsible has a deadline of April 26, hence he can continue to provide service during these days.

On the other hand, of the seven premises, two of them, if they have assumed the closure and have remained inactive during all these days. Of the remaining five, two were supposed to remain closed but have not complied with the order; thus, and after the inspection, the local police raises the record informing of the non-compliance, a procedure that will continue to be carried out in the event that the premises, even with the opening date (within the 10-day limit), do not comply with the closure and cessation of activity decreed.

Now, the activities department initiates the subsidiary execution procedure of the agreement and if it is not fulfilled, the premises will be sealed.

It should be remembered that businesses will be able to reopen once the definitive activity license has been obtained, for which they will have to previously remedy all the deficiencies of which they have been warned in the different phases of their files.

From the City Council they hope that those responsible for the premises proceed to comply with the rules and prevent the closure of the premises from being carried out more forcefully. .

That the premises that are still open are all of the same owner? I don't know why I ask… Those from the town hall are smarter than hunger and they seemed foolish. Someday someone will explain why there are people who are allowed to do whatever they want. I imagine that there will be fines for having businesses open without permission for so many years or are we going to have to pay all citizens?

I imagine that for being open without a license for so many years, putting the health and safety of their customers at risk, they will be fined, right?

I would like to be informed about that.

    Thank you very much

And isn't there any legal measure for those responsible for the town hall that we have dumping of SHIT on the beaches, that the works stop, that the cape is destroyed with more and more GIANT CUBE HOUSES? Can't we lock them up?

    • Luis says:

Well, not because the whole system is controlled by themselves.

Everyone at Javea knew what was going to happen and we know the reasons. True, Chulvi, you know it too.
You don't know how to manage, but you have what a politician needs to make a career: without complexes, without shame, without coherence, without objections...

      • Luis says:

What are the reasons and why did you all know that it was going to happen? Does it have to do with the obvious illegality, allowed and maintained for 14 years or is there something else? What else is there?
