The Oceanogràfic Foundation, within the Xàbia project, which it has been carrying out for months, carried out in the afternoon of Thursday, in the Arenal Beach, an act with which it intends to promote marine care.
The person in charge of the area of interpretation and environmental education of the Oceanogràfic Foundation, Pepa Ferrando, explained that with the new initiative of "Message in a Bottle", it is intended that all students of the nine schools of Xàbia (schools and IES) "Provide a reflection on how to prevent marine pollution or how to preserve the seabed".
"Message in a Bottle" It is a pioneering project, with the support of the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry for Ecological Transition, to raise awareness about the current problems affecting the marine environment, with the participation of students from all schools in Xàbia. The bottle was delivered to the school representation, Consell dels Xiquets i Xiquetes of Xàbia so that it travels by the schools, that will be a week by center, and is filled with good intentions. The bottle is accompanied by a logbook so that the student registers all the vicissitudes, challenges or memories of the trip.
The bottle travels inside a wooden chest, on a dry posidonia bed, one of the main ecosystems under study of the Oceanogràfic project in Xàbia. This adventure begins in the María Inmaculada school and after passing through all the educational centers, it will conclude its trip next June 8, making it
coincide with World Oceans Day.
