La XXIX Volta a Peu a Xàbia, Memorial José Albi had three local athletes as protagonists. In men, the test was dominated from the first kilometer by Youssef Ahatach and Moha Rida, who printed a rhythm that no other runner could follow. They made the whole race together and hand in hand they entered the goal, with a time 33: 22.

Once they received the trophies they were both to give them to the mother of José Albi, in a sign of great people as well as great athletes. The third place in the absolute classification was for another athlete xabiero, Nizar Lakhlifi, Club Multiesport Benitatxell.

In the female category, the surprise came with the triumph of Cristina Roselló, of the Benitatxell Multiesport Club, which won Mª Isabel Ferrer that finished second in the general classification. Roselló was the first time he managed to beat the athlete of the Llebeig Athletics Club Xàbia and entered the finish line with a time of 37: 37.

Emotive act in memory of José Albi

Before leaving for the queen test, an event took place in memory of José Albi, his friend and companion, Juanjo Vallés, had some words in his memory of which he was a great athlete and especially friend of the whole family of the Club Athletics Llebeig Xàbia. The mother of José Albi was in charge of the countdown at the start.

In the last group that reached the finish line, it was possible to see how members of the Llebeig Athletics Club came together with a shirt in memory of their teammate and friend José Albi. The public present at the finish line paid a resounding ovation.
