The Xàbia Bikers and Cala Bandida cycling teams united to recover the original paths of Xàbia

The cycling teams Xàbia Bikers and Cala Bandida Cycling Team have been united for a good cause: Recover the original trails of Xàbia. After three years of the fatal fire that devastated the mount of the granadella and one of the green lungs of the municipality, the environment has been recovered thanks to the voluntary action of citizens.

Specifically, members of both cycling teams have been in contact with the Town hall, offering their support and help in everything necessary to recover the privileged environment that Xàbia boasted of. "A slow recovery that had to go through several phases, and that during the course of these, the most important and that we always met was not to transit through all the affected areas, so as not to accentuate the degradation caused by the fire or to not disturb the operators and heavy machinery that worked in the area ", point from Xàbia Bikers.

Given the approval from the City Council, foresters and other authorities, both clubs went to work to recover, clean and repair the original paths of public use enjoyed by different groups. The volunteers have done hard and manual work, "We have invested the personal time of each one of us. Loose hours, weekends covering open ditches through the runoff from the rains, cutting down fallen trees and branches that the heavy machinery left, separating rocks that exploded due to the high temperatures of the fire and they fell everywhere, rebuilding and raising fallen margins ... ", they explain from the cyclist club.

Now, after this recovery and adaptation work, Xàbia has kilometers of recovered trails: Teuleríes, Rebaldí, Campillo, gurugú, Molló ...
