Social drones reach Xàbia institutes

Miguel Hernández University of Elche, the kaleidoscope and Javea Town HallThey have given the green light to the "II edition of the Air Show"An educational project aimed at young people between 12 to 18 years and learn to build drones with a social purpose.

The project, which this year has a budget of 50.000 euros, involves 2500 students from more than 50 institutes in the provinces of Alicante, Murcia, Valencia and Castellón. On behalf of the City Council of Xàbia, the IES number 1 and the IES Antoni Llidó.

La Air show It is a proposal that seeks to promote technological empowerment of young students from ESO and Bachiller by building a drone and reflection on technology together as a social tool of human activity. It also seeks to imagine the future air by expanding knowledge and skills in a learning and inclusive and cooperative creation for teenagers.

The first stage of the project is the training of the close to 100 registered teachers. Once the process of training the teachers involved is finished, they will be in charge of guiding their students in the development of a project that will begin with a historical review of the models of the relations between technology and society.

It will continue with an introduction to the theory of flight and finally focus on the design and construction of a drone, which shall conduct common benefit to the local environment.

In closing, in mid-April 2016 all participating schools will be invited to present their work at the Air Fair, an event that will take place at the Sports Pavilion of Miguel Hernández University of Elche. Here participants will design and build the stands where participants show the rest of the social and artistic virtues of their flying machines.

The design, structure and implementation of the Air Show is performed by company disclosure specializing in science and innovation Kaleidoscope and it has been possible thanks to the collaboration of lot Amorós and Flône projectWho inspired this project. In developing training courses he has also participated the MUDIC Foundation.

In this second edition of the project, the towns of Abanilla, Albatera, Almoradí, Banyeres de Mariola, Benidorm, Benigànim, Benissa, Biar, Callosa d'en Sarrià, Canals, Crevillente, Denia, El Campello, Gata de Gorgos, Guardamar del Segura, Ibi, Xàbia, L'Ollería, Monforte del Cid, Muro de Alcoy, Mutxamel, Ondara, Onil, Pedreguer, Petrer, San Fulgencio, San Vicente del Raspeig, Sant Joan d ' Alacant, Sax, Salinas and Villarreal, who from their respective councils of education have supported the same, strengthening their commitment to encourage and promote scientific-technical knowledge among the youngest.
