14 September 2016 - 15: 20

The five public schools of Xàbia, which presented a project to the Ministry of Education, held a voting day tomorrow at their schools. The objective of these elections is for parents to decide on the implementation of the continuous day in each of the schools in which their child is enrolled. For the vote to be valid, a minimum of 55% of affirmative votes must be obtained among the registered parents, taking into account that single-parent families are worth two. From the School Council indicate that if you are not going to vote, the vote counts as a no, not in favor of the continuous day. On the other hand, if the vote comes out, starting next October, the new hours of the centers that have accepted this new plan will change and the classes will be from 9 to 14 hours.

It must be remembered that all the schools in Xàbia, with the exception of Graüll i Vicente Tena, which were in the project phase, had until the beginning of this course, split hours, where the children attended class in the morning from 9 a.m. to 12.30:15 p.m. and in the afternoon from 16.30 p.m. to 17:XNUMX p.m. With the approval of this day, the centers would begin to teach classes only in the morning and in the afternoon, the families who want, the children will be able to continue until XNUMX:XNUMX p.m. staying for lunch and free extracurricular activities. As indicated by Education, the realization of the continuous day brings advantages over the child, since as indicated, there is an improvement in academic performance, a reduction in student fatigue, a decrease in absenteeism, improvements in children's health and better family conciliation.
