The Grup Portitxol returns, one more year, to fill the historic center of Xàbia with Valencian music and tradition with 'Les Danses del Corpus. As usual since it began in 1998, dozens of local schoolchildren are the protagonists of performing the ritual dances.
The second-year students of the Graüll schools, Trenc d'Alba, Mediterrània and María Inmaculada will offer on Sunday June 11, at 19:00 p.m., in an itinerant way, in different streets of the historic center, the dances of the paloteig, dels turcs, dels negrets, dels pastorets, de la magrana, de les tambourines, sticks and polonese.
The tour begins and ends in the Plaza de la Iglesia. Les Danses del Corpus will be closed by the ball of Nanos and the Dansa de la Moma performed by the members of the Grup de Danses Portitxol.
On this occasion, more than 200 schoolchildren and 30 musicians will participate, who will perform the 10 traditional dances.
