The voices of Xàbia Folk 2023 make the public fall in love

May 07 from 2023 - 07: 53

The root music, the charismatic voices of the artists and the dedication of the public have made the Xàbia Folk Festival 2023 the center of emotions in its more than two decades of operation.

Since the start of the festival last Friday, with the voice of the Portuguese Teresa Salgueiro, former vocalist of the Madredeus group, the tent in the Plaza de la Constitución that hosts the free concerts of the Xàbia Folk festival is almost completely full every night. And it is that, the voice of Salgueiro fell in love with the audience.

The singer, accompanied by Fábio Palma on accordion and keyboards, Ana Albiño on guitar, Sofia Queiroz on double bass and Rui Lobato on drums, percussion and guitar, presented her latest work 'Inside the silence', where he brings together a collection of emblematic songs with a message of love and freedom.

The appointment with traditional music, this time from Valencia, continued on Saturday with a double session. The first concert was that of Cati Plana and Pau Puig presenting their album 'Tretze vares'. A diatonic accordion and dolçaina duo that tackled traditional pieces, both anonymous and popular, to which they have given a personal version.

At night, Noèlia Llorens 'Titana' performed in the tent, presenting, with her powerful voice, the songs from her first album 'Titan' together with Pau Cháfer on piano and accordion, Pepe Martínez on guitar and guitarró, Jordi Sanz on bandurria and mandolin, Tóbal Rentero on llaüt and guitarró, Eugenia Perucho on double bass and Susana Díaz Tejedor on dolçaina, tarota and percussion.

And today, Sunday, the final touch of this consolidated festival, directed by Joan Buigues from La Romántica del Saladar and Toni Torregrosa from Urbàlia Rurana, will take place at the Hermitage of Santa Llúcia with Artur Blasco and Marién de Casimiro. A more intimate staging in which the duo will present 'Songs and tones of the Pirineu'. Accordion and rabequet come together to end the 21st edition of Xàbia Folk in 2023.
