The return to normal of all areas and emergency assistance is the main objective of Xàbia. As announced, the cleaning company yesterday got down to work to try to free some roads from debris and thus be able to open to traffic and pedestrian crossing. Last night the Avenida de Jaume I was reopened, thus giving access to the Duanes neighborhood, and today the cleaning of Adolfo Suárez square is being completed.
Since yesterday at noon and since early today, heavy machinery has been working on Avenida del Mediterráneo (first Montañar) removing all the reeds, stones and obstacles that the sea dragged to the circulation route, being one of the roads most affected by the storm and which is still closed to traffic for security reasons. Specifically, this morning, six shovels were working between the mouth of the Gorgos River and the confluence with Vicenza Street, the most affected section.
In this way, and little by little, acting in areas where there is no longer so much danger that he will be destroyed again, Xàbia tries to return to his true image. And, the intensity of the storm in which this morning the waves still exceeded the pedestrian areas, has made it advisable to intervene in the coastal promenades.
