The streets of Duanes de la Mar look original and colorful in the decked out

05 September 2019 - 13: 24

The streets of Duanes de la Mar dress up to face the last holidays. The color and originality shine in shop windows, balconies and streets thanks to the decking that neighbors and merchants have designed for the holidays in honor of the Virgin of Loreto and within the decking contest promoted by the Association of Merchants of Xàbia Port together to the Comissió de Festes.

This year, and coinciding with the third edition of the Contest of streets, balconies and shop windows adorned several neighbors have contributed their grain of sand to recover this tradition and of course, get one of the three prizes awarded: 300 euros in cash in the category of decked streets and 150 euros in gift card to redeem in shops of Xàbia Port for the winner of balconies and shop windows. In addition, as a novelty in this edition, the Comissió de Festes will give a detail to each of the participants in gratitude for their interest, dedication and effort.

On Bartolomé Ros Street it looks green. As if it were a jungle, this street shows this year a beautiful decked out with vines, trees, flowers, plants, characters and even a waterfall with a small lake.

On Triana Street, the theme is painting. A painter's palette shines in the center of the street and each window sports an example of a can of paint. Also, and as is tradition in this street, the floor is fully painted.

Regarding the decorated balconies, we find true works of art in Magallanes, Churruca and Isaac Peral. Els Bous a la mar, the typical xabiera construction and the fishing world are the themes of the designs of each of the participating balconies.

As for the windows, the decoration of these show the traditional acts of the festivities celebrated by Duanes de la Mar.

Now, after the visit of the jury, it is expected to know who will be the winner of each of the categories. Act to be held on Saturday 7 September during the celebration of Festa de Carrer in the Santísimo Cristo del Mar street.
